Diakonie Düsseldorf, Second-Hand Store Mascot

Client: Diakonie Düsseldorf – Kaufhaus der Mettmanner
Design of new mascot to represent its values and connect with the community. The mascot was designed to embody friendliness, sustainability, and inclusivity, core principles of the store’s mission. It was unveiled at the store on Bahnstraße 20, and the organization invited the public to participate in naming the character. Local schoolchildren from GGS Herrenhauser Straße later chose the name “Lumi”, giving the mascot a warm and approachable identity. The initiative aimed to make the store more engaging, especially for families and children, while reinforcing its role as a place of second chances, for both people and items.
